A meeting to follow up on the project for the completion of the mineral map for gold within the sites under the supervision of the Mauritanian Metal Company

The Director-General of the National Geological Research Agency and the General Manager of the Mauritanian Minerals Company held a working meeting on January 4, 2021, at the agency’s headquarters, to review the progress of the project to complete the gold mining corridors maps. This meeting is part of a series of meetings between the two institutions to ensure the follow-up of this project.
During this meeting, the Agency's Director of Geological Resources gave a detailed presentation on the progress made in the completion of the gold mining corridor maps. This presentation focused on the following points:
- An overview of the working methodology adopted for the analysis of geological data and cartographic surveys at the level of each corridor.
- The means that are mobilized to accomplish this survey, especially the use of remote sensing techniques and the digitization of maps by mobile devices.
Obstacles and difficulties during the first phase of the project.
In this context, the Director-General of the National Agency for Geological Research and Mineral Properties and the Director of the Mauritanian Minerals Company noted the importance of this project in enhancing gold mining capabilities in the country.
